Digital Instruction provided by The National Digital Equity Center
The National Digital Equity Center (NDEC), Somerset Economic Development Corporation (SEDC), and Mercer Shaw Library have joined forces to host digital skills classes.
Four courses have been presented so far: Using Facebook Securely last September, Intermediate Microsoft Word and Introduction to Microsoft Excel in December and January. Cutting the Cord - Getting TV and Phone Services Over the Internet was held in February.
The next course being offered is: iPad Basics, a three-class course, July 17, 24 & 31 from 1:00-2:00pm. There is one spot left at this time. Here's the link to register: https://digitalequitycenter.org/classes/class/ipad-basics/?instance_id=6225.

Step 1. Shop for a class of interest at: https://digitalequitycenter.org/classes/
Step 2. When you find one that interests you let us know and we'll arrange to host it.
Step 3. Complete the one-time enrollment registration with NDEC by using this link:

Step 4. After your class has been arranged you will be given a link to reserve your spot in that class.
You can also come to the library to browse a class catalog and sign up in person.

All classes are free to Maine residents. ($50 annual fee for non-residents.) They are very relaxed, easy to follow, interactive and informative, and take place in the library's new Remote Workspace.

Are you having trouble with your phone, tablet, laptop or computer? Struggling with recent changes to platforms you've used for years? Curious about programs that will help you with your business, stay in touch with loved ones, access telehealth, etc.?? Scarlet DeShong from NDEC is here the first Thursday of every month from 1:30 - 3:30pm and can meet with you personally to help you navigate technology. The library's new technical assistant Karen Rhoton is also available to assist you on Wednesdays from 3 - 6pm.
